PATRICK RITTER
Patrick graduated from Grinnell College and the University of Iowa College of Law. Prior to college, he served four years on active duty in the United States Marine Corps before being honorably discharged as a Sergeant. His primary areas of practice include civil litigation, criminal defense, family law, elder law, and estate planning.
In 2017, Patrick left a partnership position with the Elwood, O'Donohoe, Braun & White, LLP. law firm to open Ritter Law, P.C. Patrick brings experience across multiple practice areas and a team of two experienced legal assistants to continue providing a full range of legal services to clients in Northeast Iowa.
Patrick regularly presents on Elder Law and estate planning topics and has spoken at health fairs, informational seminars, financial advisor presentations, and dementia support groups. He also serves as Director of the West Union Main Street - Chamber of Commerce organization and is a member of the West Union Community Development Board.
CHRISTY BLOCKHUS
Legal Assistant
Christy has over 25 years of experience as a legal assistant for the practice of Jon Antes and for Elwood, O'Donohoe, Braun & White, LLP prior to joining Ritter Law upon the firm's opening. She is a graduate of Northeast Iowa Community College's clerical program. She assists primarily with juvenile law matters, guardianships and conservatorships, probate, billing, and payroll. Christy's wide range of skills are assets to the firm, and she makes our clients feel at home.
ROSE WANDER
Legal Assistant
Rose has over twenty years of experience in customer service, billing, and bookkeeping. She joined Ritter Law upon the firm's opening after two years of employment with Elwood, O'Donohoe, Braun & White, LLP. Rose assists primarily with criminal law and family law matters, correspondence, scheduling, and bookkeeping. Rose's outgoing personality and attention to detail keep Ritter Law's fast-paced office running smoothly.
